The chemical/oil tanker Zapadnyy ran aground at the Silloth harbour in England. The coastguard reported that the vessel ran aground on Saturday as it approached the harbour at around 12:00 GMT. The cargo ship Zapadnyy was with a list to starboard side at low tide and and was refloated on the high tide, shortly before midnight.
The cargo ship runs aground for the second time at the same UK harbour.
There were no injured people during the accident and no report pollution during grounding. Divers were expected to examine the ship’s hull for damage.
Zapadnyy (IMO: 8711837) is a Ukrainian chemical/oil tanker, owned by Wectra Marine and managed by PE Veliero Ukraine. The vessel has overall length of 77.00 m and moulded beam of 14.00 m. The 1988-built tanker has deadweight of 3,297 DWT and gross tonnage of 1,896 GRT.
